Michelle leaned against Beth and cried. So far, she was shrinking the fastest, and she was really frightened. Beth wasn’t thrilled either, but was trying to make the best of it. After a few more minutes, Michelle drifted off to sleep and Beth got up and walked across the rafts to her clothes. She’d shrunk eleven inches so far, and bikinis are usually made to be tight. After a few minutes, she was able to tie it securely enough to stay on . . . at least for now, she thought. Satisfied that she was decent, she walked over to Sarah and leaned over the side to avoid waking Michelle.
“Sarah, what are we gonna do?” She asked, looking back at Michelle worriedly.
Sarah didn’t say anything for a minute, and didn’t look back, the sound of the river and the wind in the trees was all that could be heard for a moment. She had seen Michelle’s second shrink and it scared the daylights out of her. In the span of less than half an hour, she’d shrunk ten inches, and none of them knew when, or if, this was going to stop. In reality, she didn’t want to look at Beth either. Beth had shrunk the most, Michelle had shrunk the fastest, which made Sarah begin to wonder what would happen to her.
With a sigh she turned to Beth, concern etched in her face, “I don’t know, Beth. I’ll admit to you now, I’m scared. I haven’t a clue why you two are shrinking and all I can think of is when will it happen to me?”
“What?” Beth looked her confused. “What are you talking about?”
“Come on, Beth. First you, then Michelle. You’ve got to admit that whatever is doing this to you is bound to catch up with me. I just wish it would get it over with.”
She looked away, ashamed to have admitted that to Beth. When she turned around, she had tears in her eyes, “I’ll be honest, I don’t even know how we’re going to stop you two from shrinking. When I get you two out of here, what are we going to do? If I take you to a hospital, how will they know what to do? I feel like we’re in a catch-22. If we don’t do anything, you two will shrink to only God knows how small. If we get you to a hospital, will they just observe you while you shrink away?”
Beth reached out and hugged Sarah’s neck, “Its ok, Sarah. I can imagine how you feel.”
Sarah stopped pulling and turned around, “No, you don’t understand how I’m feeling.” Sarah was crying openly now, frustration mixed with anger. “Part of me feels like it’s my fault that this is happening. I suggested us coming out here. I suggested taking the alternate route, rather than going with the regular group. I’m asking myself, ‘What if we’d stayed with them? Would we be in this situation?’ And yet there’s no reason for me to feel that way.” She wiped tears away, “Another part of me feels like I should be shrinking with you; at least so its all three of us together, but watching you two shrink is tearing me up inside.”
Her shoulders shook as she turned away again and began to cry. Beth hugged Sarah close to her and let her cry on her shoulder as she sobbed, “I feel like I’m losing you two, slowly but surely, and I don’t know what to do.” Beth cried with her. They were such good friends that they were practically sisters. They had all grown up together and were so close that it was understandable how Sarah was feeling.
Just then a wave of pleasure ran through Beth’s body and she gasped out loud. Sarah jerked back and watched in horror, “No!!”
At the sound of Sarah’s scream, Michelle bolted up in time to watch as Beth began to shrink again. She moaned in arousal that was so strong that she fell back into the middle of the raft. Sarah could only watch as Beth’s bikini pooled over top of her rapidly dwindling frame. Beth was breathing hard and ran her hands over her breasts as she grew smaller, the shrink obviously stimulating her sexually. Michelle began to shake her head, “No, no, no, no, no. Please no.”
Beth continued to shrink, now less than four feet tall. Then, just as quickly as it had begun, Beth’s reduction slowed, and then halted. Michelle rushed over to cradle Beth against her, “Beth! Are you ok, please speak to us!”
Sarah could only look on in shock. One of her best friends, a sister to her, now lay in the middle of the raft, and was no more than three feet, ten inches tall. She wanted to run, go get help, but like she’d said to Beth, what would she do? Where would she go? Finally, determined to do something, she grabbed the raft and began pulling again, the open portion of the river was her goal.
After a minute, Michelle turned toward her, “She’s asleep, Sarah. I think she’ll be ok.” she said quietly.
“Will she?” Sarah choked out, “Will she be ok, Michelle. Will you be ok? I don’t think shrinking away to nothing is ok!”
Michelle drew back, hurt by Sarah’s anger, but knowing that it was out of concern for them both. “I’ll keep an eye on her,” she said lamely.
Sarah nodded, “You do that,” she said, her voice breaking as tears streamed down her face. She continued pulling, even though inside she was breaking up. She had to get help, but would it be in time? Would her best friends in the whole world still be around to reverse what was happening to them? She put those thoughts away and focused on pulling the rafts while Michelle cradled Beth next to her.
Beth awoke a few minutes later and realized that she’d shrunk, “Oh no, not again.” She looked around, finding everyday things were quickly becoming too big for her. The most obvious was her bikini. Even with it tied and looped around her body, it wasn’t going to fit right.
Michelle handed her an extra t-shirt, “I thought I might need another one just in case. I guess it was a good idea to bring an extra one.” She smiled gently as Beth took the shirt. Beth hugged her and stood up, letting her bikini fall to the bottom of the raft for the final time. It was doubtful she’d ever wear it again. When she slipped the t-shirt on, it engulfed her, covering her like an oversized nightgown that fell just below her knees.
“Thanks, Michelle,” she said quietly, “How’s Sarah?”
Michelle glanced over at where Sarah was pulling the rafts, “I think she’s taking it worse than the two of us put together, and we’re the ones . . . oh no!”
Michelle gasped and began to quiver. Beth didn’t make any noise so as to not upset Sarah, but as she watched, Michelle shrank even further, her swimsuit rapidly ballooning around her shrinking figure. She touched herself and moaned very softly, and then released a soft sigh. Beth couldn’t be sure, but she figured that compared to her current size, Michelle had shrunk another three or four inches and was about four feet, four inches tall. When Michelle came out of it, she looked at her swimsuit and sighed, “Oh god, when is this going to stop? Beth, at this rate we’ll be microscopic in a few hours.”
“Don’t say that,” Beth whispered harshly. “All Sarah needs now is to hear us accepting the fact that we’re going to shrink away to nothing and she’ll lose it. Honestly, Michelle, she’s barely hanging on at this point. Probably better than most could in this situation. Granted, we’re the ones shrinking, but she’s our best friend and its ripping her up to see this happen to us.”
“But we are, Beth. We are shrinking away.” Michelle adjusted her suit a little and tied the strings a little tighter to keep her breasts covered, but it wasn’t working very well. She glanced at her watch, “We started shrinking about half an hour ago and look at us!” You’ve shrunk about a foot and a half, and I’m over a foot smaller than I was. And its getting worse, you realize that!”
Beth nodded, “What’s bothering me is that I’m getting to like it.”
“What!?!” Michelle gasped, keeping her voice down, “How can you say that?”
“Admit it, Michelle. This is the most erotic sensation you’ve ever felt. Don’t get me wrong, but has Brad ever felt this good?”
Michelle’s eyes grew stormy, but just as quickly they softened. She ducked her head, embarrassed to admit it, “You’re right. God, it feels so good that part of me wants it to continue, but the other part, the part that knows what will happen if it does is scared shitless!”
Beth nodded, “I know, I’ve felt the same way.”
“So what do we do?”
Looking over at Sarah’s back, Beth replied, “We try to keep it as quiet as possible. We know we’re gonna shrink, we just don’t know how small we’re going to become. But we’ve got to avoid upsetting Sarah as much as possible. She’s tearing herself apart over this.”
“Agreed.”
Sarah could hear Michelle and Beth whispering in the far raft. She could make out bits and pieces of the conversation, and she knew what it was about. They knew they were shrinking, they were just trying to avoid upsetting her, and this made her smile. They always supported her, just as she would support them. It was a part of their friendship.
What was upsetting Sarah the most was that she couldn’t share in this problem with them. Since they were in preschool, they’d always stuck by each other. Always helped each other. Always been there for each other and gone through problems together. But this was something that she couldn’t go through with them, not yet anyway. She had a bad feeling that somehow what was happening to them was going to happen to her. She didn’t know when, but she just felt it inside, and part of her wanted it to happen so she could experience it with them. Right now she felt like an outsider, and that had never happened before. For now, at least, she would keep on pulling and hope that they could get help in time.
